Instructions

The best way to set up your Horse-O-Meter is with a helper. The Horse-O-Meter has 3 settings:
1. Please mark on ground at Front left hoof. Take 10 normal walking steps. Put mark on ground at front left hoof. Measure the distance from between marks.
2. Divide by 10. (Example: 29.5 feet divided by10 steps=2.95 stride length)
3. Press the MODE button until the cursor appears under DIS. Press and hold down the SET button until your correct or closest stride length appears. Release the SET button and your stride is entered.
Set Horse-O-Meter for the gait you use the most on your rides. Example: Endurance Open or Arena Work set for a long trot.
Approximant Stride for Walk
16 Hand Horse=3.10
15 Hand Horse= 3.05
14 Hand Horse = 2.95

Place the Horse-O-Meter on the front of the shoulder on your breast collar. Not center chest but to one side, at the shoulder blade. Works with almost any breast collar. The Horse-O-Meter is designed to be read from the back of your horse. Clip on to breast collar and wrap safety strap around and tie.

To check your Stride length. Go for a joy ride of one marked mile. Adjust stride setting accordingly.

· Avoid dropping or crushing, this could break the crystal and it is not covered in the warranty
· Avoid excessive moisture, this is not covered in the warranty
· Avoid forcing the clip onto breast collar. This is not covered in the warranty.
· Battery should be changed when the Digital Display becomes faded or blank. Insert a coin into the dime size slot on the side and turn to open the front face to reveal the battery.

Note: If Horse-O-Meter is not recording steps accurately, try to relocate your meter in various positions on your horse's shoulder.
